This professional grade 10 String Keyhead of milled aluminum can accommodate the following features.
Outside Dimensions (without tuning keys) = 6″ long x 3¾” wide (at widest point), & 1 7/8″ (at narrow end), for a Neck height of 5/8″.

Milled for Mini Grover Tuning Keys:
-Roller Nut Slots are milled 3/16″ wide;
-Roller Nuts = 3/8″ diameter;
-Slot & hole for Roller Nut = 3/32″ Shaft.

A-440 Deluxe Tuning Fork

An A-440 Tuning Fork is the standard pitch used in most musical applications.

I have used this ‘tuning standard’ to obtain the reference note for tuning my pedal steel by ear for many years.

This ‘Reference Note’ is obtained by holding the tuning fork over the guitar pickup with the amp on, & then while engaging the foot pedal which raises the 3rd G# string to A on most E9th tunings, pick this string to make it sound & match it (removing the beats [waves] to the ‘A’ note of the tuning fork.

Keeping the A&B pedals engaged (making for an A Major chord in the open position on the E9th tuning) while matching the ‘A’ notes as per above, therefore accommodating for the possible ‘body collapse’ of your guitar, tune your 4th E string to the ‘A’ note removing the beats [waves] to result in a compensated (sweetened) sound which is pleasant to the ears.

Al Brisco – Pickin’ Up The Dust

This is Al’s first Musical Steel Guitar Instrumental CD, culminating after his many years in the music business playing pedal steel guitar. Al started playing pedal steel in 1964 around Renfrew, Ontario in The Ottawa Valley with The Countrymen, going on the road in 1965 & playing with various bands, doing club dates, concerts, recording sessions, Radio & TV shows, etc.

Al’s steel guitar influences include Ralph Mooney, Tom Brumley, Buddy Emmons, Buddy Charleton & Lloyd Green.  Some of the groups & artists that have helped shape Al’s career include The Sons Of The Saddle, Dick Damron, Honey West, George Hamilton IV, Pure Prairie League, Ian & Sylvia Tyson, Gordie Tapp, Gary Buck, Johnny Burke & Eastwind, to name a few. Al Brisco – Volume Pedal Workshop

Al Brisco of Steel Guitars of Canada covers multiple topics relating to volume pedals as used by steel guitarists. The volume pedal could more correctly be called an expression pedal, as its use is an integral sound of a steel guitar’s voice, making it the most important accessory for playing steel guitar.
