special equipment and techniques required to play great non-pedal style steel
guitar. Topics include tunings, right hand blocking, slant bar, palm harmonics,
proper hand placement, trills, hammer-ons, as well as several well known
melodies, including Texas Playboy Rag using the A6th Tuning, with the last tune
using the E7th tuning.
In Volume II, Herb shares the secrets of several of his signature tunes, such
as Remington Ride (A6th), Guitar Rag (E Tuning), Boot Heel Drag (C# Minor),
Westphalia Waltz, plus other familiar melodies using the A6th tuning. Topics
include forward and reverse slants, finger harmonics, dissonance, and special
tunings. A separate section on major scales and single note soloing is also
