Peavey® MSDI (Microphone Simulated Direct Interface) units are now in stock.
This box installs between the power
amp output & the speaker to give you a XLR line out to a mixing console,
reproducing the same sound as putting a mic on the
speaker, but with no signal bleeding, or mic stand
clutter, etc. It can also double as a headphone output, (eliminating the amp’s
speaker sound)…very useful for tuning or practicing! Passive
circuitry. No signal clipping.

SGC have a few
models remaining with the optional ‘Hybrid’ All-Tube Pre-Amp. Artists will
discover all the familiar front panel controls: Master, Reverb, Bass, Depth, Body,
Expand, Treble, and Volume with easy to read and adjust knobs. These controls
deliver the tonal adjustability & clarity that top musicians depend on.
Other features include: +6dB and Normal inputs, effects loop, headphone and
external speaker capability, and preamp output. NEW reverb effects include:
Reverb alone, Flange & Reverb, or Chorus & Reverb. Also, a new Dwell
control allows you to adjust the desired amount of layout for the selected
reverb effect.
The all-tube preamp Hybrid combo amplifiers have already garnered praise from
some of our top endorsers. They were astounded by the amp's sweet, warm tone.
They also appreciated the lack of hum and lag associated with other tube
amplifiers, making the Hybrid Evans amps ideal for the recording studio.
Also, all the power
amps are 200 watts, & are switchable between 115V & 230V, so they can
be used ‘world-wide’, simply by changing the power cord plug to suit the
country where it is being used.
If you appreciate the tone of high quality instruments, then you owe it to
yourself to experience just how good they can sound by arranging to audition a
new hybrid Evans Custom Amplifier today.
Evans Custom Amplifiers has been blessed with
over 40 years of continuously building great amps by closely following the
vision of our founder and current chief consultant, Jim Evans. Now, you can
easily experience the uncluttered sound that has made Evans Amps the pinnacle
of clean amplification worldwide. Order Today.
Operating
Controls

Pictured - front panel

Pictured - rear panel
NORMAL AND +6Db INPUTS: +6Db provides the most volume with a heavier amplified sound. Use Normal Input with strong pickups to avoid overdriving the preamp. (+6Db = Input 1 and Normal = Input 2 on older models). Located on top front panel.
MASTER: Used to set the output gain of the preamp. On newer models the convenient on/off switch on this knob requires the first part of the control. So, don't be afraid to turn it from 3 to 7. Located on top front panel.
BUFF: This solid state preamp control provides beautiful overtones found in tube amplifiers. Start with Buff on 4 to 6. Next, use your ear to adjust the Treble then the Expand switch. Located on top front panel. (Models made before 2004 had the Scruff control which warmed the sound while cutting some of the highs and was not recommended for Pedal Steel Guitar.)
REVERB: This control mixes in the amount of reverb effect desired. Digital reverb now standard on Evans Amplifiers. Located on top front panel.
REVERB SELECTION: A rear panel switch selects Reverb alone, Reverb plus Flange, or Reverb plus Chorus. (Currently unavailable with Solid State AH200.)
DWELL: This rear panel control sets room size or reverb interval. The Dwell control has a convenient center detent value sufficient for most musicians. (Currently unavailable with Solid State AH200.)
BASS: Sets the amount of bass desired. The maximum Bass should be dialed in by playing the lowest open string and turning up the knob from 0 until it gets boomy and then backing off by a number. Turn down the Bass to 5 or less when using +6Db Input with Master greater than 6 or Normal Input with Master greater than 7. If the Bass knob is turned up while playing at loud volume, the low end will be overcompensated and muddy because bass frequencies are easier to reproduce at loud volumes. Located on top front panel.
DEPTH: This control enhances the low and low midrange. Counterclockwise to 7 o'clock is off. Turn to 7 o'clock - 12 o'clock when Master is greater than 5 in +6Db Input or 7 with Normal Input. Body knob must be set > 1 for best Depth operation. Located on top front panel.
BODY: Used to set the amount of midrange and darkness, this is a multi-function control that increases low mid-range tones while rolling off high frequencies. Located on top front panel.
EXPAND: This switch boosts the highs, and some lows. Up is on, down is off. Located on top front panel.
TREBLE: Selects the amount of treble desired. On new models the Treble should be dialed in by playing the highest open string and turning up the knob from 0 until it gets thin and then backing off by a number. The most solid Treble sound is 0-2. Located on top front panel.
VOLUME: Sets the input level to the pre-amp. Lower settings (3-5) reflect the instrument's voice. Higher settings (6-9) emphasize the amplifier's tone settings. Located on top front panel.
EFFECTS OUT AND IN (SEND AND RETURN): These jacks are located on the top back panel and placed in the circuit just before the Master level control and after all frequency adjustments and reverb. Most effects units should be connected here. However, some effects units may operate better connected between the instrument and Normal Input.
PREAMP OUT: This is a line out signal for driving a mixer board or an additional power amplifier. (1/4" jack available) Located on top back panel.
EXTERNAL SPEAKER: The output is used for driving an additional 8 ohm speaker. Located on bottom back panel.
PHONES: Jack for headphones. Located on bottom back panel.
